Alejandro Quintero

Having studied both History and Philosophy at La Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia, Alejandro successfully pursued an M.A. in Philosophy at The New School for Social Research with a thesis on Spinoza's conception of organism. He has worked on such varied topics as Deleuze and Guattari’s stance on revolution and the satirical mannerisms of fin-de-siècle Colombian politicians. Now a PhD candidate in the Latin American and Iberian Cultures program, his current interests revolve around the antimodern thinkers and writers that can be identified along Colombia’s tortuous intellectual history of the past two centuries. Links between literary style and thought, aphorist writers, and right-wing thought in general, can also be counted among his academic pursuits.
