Lacey Beck


Lacey completed her B.A. in Spanish and Latin American Cultures in December of 2014. Her academic interests include Second Language Acquisition, Cognitive Linguistics, and Discourse Analysis. She is currently working on her M.A. in Linguistics Applied to Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language at Nebrija University, and plans to pursue a PhD through the same program.

She is also currently working on a team led by Senior Lecturer Guadalupe Ruiz Fajardo on the creation of the Columbia Corpus de conversaciones, which contains video recordings of natural conversations among Spanish speakers to be used as language sources in the teaching and learning of the language.
