Profile

Anayvelyse Allen-Mossman received her B.A in Comparative Literature at Barnard College, and is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Latin American and Iberian Cultures and the Institute for Comparative Literature and Society. In her dissertation she examines photography of the late nineteenth and early twentieth century export boom in Argentina in order to understand the relationship between labor, race and state-building in the context of transnational capitalism.

Anayvelyse has been the recipient of a Fulbright-Hays Doctoral Dissertation and GSAS Teaching Scholars Fellowships. In 2020, she was awarded the Dr. Devon T. Wade Mentorship, Service and Advocacy Award.
