Mónica Ramírez Bernal holds a BA in history and an MA in art history from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. She has been a member of the research project Miguel Covarrubias y el arte del Pacífico: hacia una historia de contactos y difusión (Instituto de Investigaciones Estéticas/DGAPA) and authored the book The Ocean as Landscape. Pageant of the Pacific: Mural Maps by Miguel Covarrubias (UNAM, 2018 ). She has been awarded a 2020 Fulbright-García Robles fellowship to start the PhD program at LAIC.
