Elsa Úbeda
Profile
Elsa has an M.A. in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language from the Universidad Menéndez Pelayo in Spain. She is currently a student in the doctoral program in Education at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.
She has taught Spanish and Catalan for a number of years both in Spain and the United States. In 2003 she received a Fulbright Fellowship to work as a Spanish lecturer at Susquehanna University. After working in the Consorci per a la Normalització Lingüística in Barcelona, in 2007 she joined the Spanish and Portuguese Department at Georgetown University as a Catalan Lecturer. She has been teaching and directing the Catalan program in Columbia since 2009.
Her interests are conversation analysis for SLA, L2 interactional competence, L2 classroom discourse, and second-language teaching methodology.
She loves teaching and looks forward to having you in one of her Catalan classes.
