Profile

I hold a BA in Journalism (2008-2012), a MA in International Studies (2012-2013) both from Universidade de Santiago de Compostela, and a MA in European Studies (2013-2015) offered by the Department of Culture and Society at Aarhus University (Denmark).

As a graduate student at LAIC, I had the opportunity to explore various academic fields ranging from critical theory to gender issues, memory, or sound studies. My thesis delves into the appropriation of folk music and dance by the Iberian fascist dictatorships during the 20th century from an interdisciplinary perspective that combines cultural history and performance studies. In 2019-2020 I was the recipient of the Mellon Humanities International Travel Fellowship (Columbia University) that allowed me to conduct archival research in the Iberian Peninsula. My project focuses on the study of media outlets such as magazines, radio scripts, and tv documentaries as well as collectible ephemera, i.e., flyers, posters, catalogs, and the like.
