The Hispanic Institute is pleased to co-sponsor More hispano: Sacred Song from Early Modern Iberia, featuring choral music from sixteenth-century Spain, performed by University of Connecticut’s Collegium Musicum under the direction of Eric Rice, in collaboration with singers from Columbia’s Department of Music. Curated by music historians Susan Boynton and Eric Rice, the program includes chant from the Mozarabic Chapel founded in Toledo Cathedral in the early sixteenth century and three Iberian polyphonic settings of the hymn “Pange lingua.”
More hispano will close the 2025 Fitch Colloquium, titled Fragments of the Imagination: Provenance, Preservation, and the Afterlives of Architecture, organized by the Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation.
St. Paul's Chapel is located on campus at 1160 Amsterdam Ave. If you don’t have a current Columbia ID, you must register here to attend.
