Please join us for an interactive Zoom conversation with Dominican-born author, artist, and educator Josefina Báez. This question-and-answer-based discussion will delve into her perspective on embodying the Latino experience, as well as the significance of her archives, recently acquired by Columbia’s Rare Book and Manuscript Library.

This event is organized by Prof. Ximena González-Parada and kindly cosponsored by the Institute of Latin American Studies.

About the speaker:

Josefina Báez (La Romana, Dominican Republic/New York) is a storyteller, ArteSana, performer, writer, theatre director, educator, and devotee. She is the founder and director of Latinarte/Ay Ombe Theatre (established in April of 1986).
