Miguel Ángel Blanco Martínez

Profile

I hold Bachelor Degrees in Humanities and Translation-Interpreting (Universidad Pablo de Olavide), and an Erasmus Mundus Master’s Degree in Women’s and Gender Studies (Universidad de Oviedo and Utrecht University). Throughout this training, I received several scholarships to study at Bonn Universität (Germany), Ruhr-Universität Bochum (Germany), Mount Royal University (Canada), Universidad de Salamanca (Spain), Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México (Mexico), and Universidade de Brasília (Brazil), all of which have provided me with an interdisciplinary academic and activist background. My research interests focus on feminist theory, transgenerational trauma in post-conflict Spain, contemporary Spanish popular culture, translation, and creative writing. I am particularly drawn to the study and articulation of situated research applying feminist frameworks through the arts. I have worked as a translator, language instructor, and developer of social inclusion projects. As a current PhD student in Latin American and Iberian Cultures (Columbia University), I hope to pursue my research interests in conversation with a crosscutting training and teaching.
